- Born in Louisiana in 1939 and was an American
- Was antisocial and a loner as a child. According to www.pbs.org, Oswald's solcial worker described him as being "emotionally frozen".
- Dropped out of school at 17 to join the US Marines. Oswald's captain in the Marines Robert Block said he was an introvert (articles.latimes.com)
- Became a good shooter in the Marines. According to www.pbs.org, Oswald's training sergeant said he was "a slightly better than average shot for a marine, excellent by civilian standards"
- Was a Marxist and lived in Russia for a while
- Married Marina Oswald Porter and had two children - June and Audrey
- Worked at the Texas School Book Depository approximately one month prior to the assassination
- 24 years old at the time of Kennedy's assassination
- Weapon used was an Italian rifle which was purchased by Oswald under a fake name. The Warren Commission said it was a Mannlicher-Carcano rifle
- Oswald killed a police officer named J D Tippit almost an hour after Kennedy's assassination
- Oswald was killed shortly after his capture on November 24th 1963 by Jack Ruby from being shot in the stomach
