CONSPIRACY THEORY 2 - The C.I.A
This conspiracy theory states that the Central Intelligence Agency (and the United States Government) planned and assassinated John F. Kennedy. In 1962, Kennedy terminated the Cuban Project nicknamed "Operation Mongoose" which had a purpose of helping Cuba "overthrow the Castro regime" (history.state.gov). This didn't sit well with the C.I.A because of their tremendous effort and resources that went into the project. Secondly, the C.I.A were angry with Kennedy, as they though he wasn't taking a serious enough approach on Communism. According to jackson.k12.ga.us, "Many on the far-right felt that Kennedy was not doing enough to eliminate the threat posed by Cuba". Thirdly, the C.I.A also blamed him for the failure of the Bay of Pigs Invasion of 1961. And finally, the C.I.A didn't want Kennedy to make the same mistake with Vietnam as he did with Cuba, because the Vietnam War was taking place at the time. Also, not only were the C.I.A angry with Kennedy, but Kennedy appeared to be angry at the C.I.A too. According to www.mcadams.posc.mu.edu, Kennedy said he wished to "splinter the C.I.A into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds" which would have obviously further irritated the C.I.A. These points all contribute to the C.I.A's motive to kill Kennedy.

What points towards the C.I.A?
- Kennedy's brain (in addition to other evidence) went missing after it was passed into the care of the United States Government. Could the C.I.A have destroyed this important piece of evidence? Kennedy's brain would have indicated where the shots were fired from and ultimately if there was another shooter. The C.I.A would be contradicting the Warren Commission that reported there was a lone assassin who shot Kennedy from behind
- The C.I.A could have easily infiltrated the police force due to their superiority, resources, experience and expertise
- The C.I.A wouldn't have had any problems keeping the planning and assassination of Kennedy undisclosed because they are an organization revolving around secrecy
- The C.I.A have previously planned (and attempted multiple times) to assassinate Fidel Castro, the former President of Cuba as well as other influential and powerful people. According to The Washington Post, "the Central Intelligence Agency tried to assassinate President Fidel Castro and other former personalities and leaders". This shows that the C.I.A were capable of Kennedy's assassination and that it isn't a huge stretch to suspect that the C.I.A was responsible
- The C.I.A could have easily set up Lee Harvey Oswald and used him as a scapegoat. According to www.countercurrentnews.com, "Declassified documents show that the CIA were in communication with alleged assassin Lee Harvey Oswald before JFK's murder in 1963, and they were monitoring his mail since 1959".
- The C.I.A had a strong motive based around revenge and politics which are always powerful motivations in assassinations
